1996 'MOBY' PRINCE OF WHALES LAUNCHED
Moby is the world's only giant whale shaped boat standing at 65ft long, 25ft high and weighs in at 60 tonnes, fitted with 2 engines and covered in a skin like foam. Moby was designed by Tom McClean, sea trials took place amongst the dolphins of the Moray Firth and Tom has completed a 2,000-mile voyage sailing around Britain inside the belly of the whale.
The Whale boat is comparable to a sperm whale in weight and size and was built and launched in Scotland, with help from Tom, based on his previous knowledge of unusual shaped boats which he has designed, built and rowed or sailed across the Atlantic Ocean.
